Hidden in the Frisian landscape, between vast meadows and in the vicinity of the Sneekermeer, lies Sjaerdemahof. A place for those who love camping as it is meant to be: in peace, surrounded by nature, with space to relax and actively go out. No overcrowded fields or flashy entertainment here, but a small-scale, friendly atmosphere where you wake up with the sound of birds and the smell of freshly mown grass.

Everything for a relaxing stay
For us, camping is all about the outdoors, being together and enjoying the little things. That's why you'll find everything you need for a nice, relaxing time here:
Camping spots with space & freedom – 25 camping spots and 4 paved camper spots with water and limited available 16A electricity. We are a new campsite and are still developing, so be aware of the limited power supply. Comfortable sanitary facilities – A heated sanitary area with five toilets, two urinals and five showers (including one family shower). Always hot water and showering is simply included. Fire pit for cozy evenings – Roast marshmallows, share stories and enjoy the starry sky. Children can play outside – Go-karting across the site, jumping on the trampoline and going on an adventure in nature together. Fresh rolls in the morning – Order your rolls in the evening, then they will be crispy and ready for you in the morning. Want to put the phone aside for a moment? – In our bookcase you will find a nice story to dive into. Or grab a game from the games cupboard. A nice break with coffee or tea – Whether you like a strong espresso, a cappuccino or a regular cup of coffee, we are happy to make it for you. Ice cream for a summer moment of enjoyment – Cool down after a long bike ride or just… because you can! Wifi? Yes, but… – It is there. But why not really go offline and enjoy the peace and quiet? At Sjaerdemahof you have everything you need to keep it simple, cozy and relaxed.

At Sjaerdemahof, everything revolves around enjoying nature, peace and freedom. To keep it pleasant for everyone here, we have a few agreements that should be self-evident: Respect for nature & each other – Enjoy the space, but leave everything tidy. In the evenings, we keep it quiet, so that everyone can sleep under the stars. Car-free camping site – We park in the parking lot, so that the grass stays green and the camping site is safe for everyone. Campfire & coziness – Fires are allowed in the designated places. We keep it cozy, without loud music. Dogs are welcome, as long as... they are on a leash, are walked outside the site, the poop is cleaned up and they do not cause any nuisance. This way, it remains pleasant for everyone! Sustainable camping – We separate waste, use as little water as possible and leave nature alone as much as possible. Take care of our lawn – Do not use a suffocating groundsheet, so that the grass stays healthy and everyone can enjoy a green camping field. Environmentally friendly resources – Our septic tank works naturally. Therefore, only use biodegradable soap, shampoo and liquid for the chemical toilet. This way we keep the water and nature clean. Together we make Sjaerdemahof a place where everyone can enjoy the outdoors!

Cars & Parking
We like to keep our terrain spacious and green. That is why our terrain is car-free and you park your car in the central parking lot. We assume a maximum of 1 car per camping spot, because our parking space is small and really full = full!
This way, Sjaerdemahof remains a peaceful, natural place where everyone can enjoy themselves to the fullest.
About us
Our adventure began with a desire for something new, a place to make our dreams come true. After discovering many beautiful places, we ended up in the quiet village of Goënga, in the heart of Friesland, in February 2022. Here we found the ideal location to realize our dream: starting a campsite, B&B and tea garden. We are a family of seven, of which the youngest two children (now 16 & 14) have joined us on this adventure. They are part of our new life in Friesland with full energy and curiosity. Our three oldest children have chosen to stay in the Randstad, where they continue to build their own lives. Fortunately, they often come by to relax, see us and experience the beautiful Friesland. We are building something beautiful from nothing, with a lot of love and passion. It is an adventure full of challenges, but also incredibly beautiful, because we see our vision become reality bit by bit. Our dream is not just to welcome guests, but to create a place where people can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, enjoy nature, peace and Frisian hospitality. What was a farmyard before we arrived, strewn with concrete and industrial heritage, has undergone a huge transformation in recent times. We have been busy turning this piece of land into a warm, hospitable place, where nature is central again. We have already planted more than 1500 trees and shrubs and have created a green, blooming environment from the large pieces of concrete. Step by step, a place is growing here where everyone can feel at home, surrounded by peace, nature and the warm atmosphere that we like to experience ourselves. Making something beautiful out of nothing, that is our adventure – and we can't wait to share it with you!
